I am selling my caravan through a dealer who offers brokerage. Does anyone know who will be liable for say, a repair to a fault, the new owner may find?

The dealer thinks it should be me but he is the dealer albeit selling on my behalf.

If I sold it myself I would'nt be expected to provide a warranty surely?

has it got any warranty left from the manufacturer as the new owner could pay a fee to have it transferred to his name.

Yes and there is no charge for transfer, but its only whats left on the ingress warranty. The dealer wanted me to sign to say I would cover any cost of repair for basically anything failing over the next 6 months! (Fridge, heater, etc)

A dealer wouldnt give a 6 month warranty on a used van, (only usually 3 month insurance backed) but he expects me to cover it personally.

Not sure who is legally obliged if anyone.

Could it be 'Sold as seen'... but you may not get what you are hoping for the van.

The van I sold through a broker was 5 years old and was sold as seen.  I didn’t provide any warranty and the dealer only acted as a broker.  The caravan wasn’t part of his stock list
