Best route: Carmarthen to Newcastle Emlyn

Apologies if this isn't the best place to post this question but I'm wondering if anyone can advise the best caravan friendly route between Carmarthen and Newcastle Emlyn please?

All the route planners and map apps so far want to take me via the B4333 and I'm a bit wary of taking the van long distances on B roads.  Some get mighty narrow and/or twisty.

Is the A484 a better route, although a bit longer, or is there any justification for going the long way round and playing it safe on the A40 to Haverfordwest and Fishguard a then taking the A487 east again towards Cardigan?

Thanks in advance.

No need to go to Fishguard, The route on the google map is the way we would take. Milk Tankers, Cattle lorries etc use that route.

    Thanks @cariadon.

We did try to stick to the A484 on the way there but at some point we got diverted onto the B4333 without realising.  It's plenty wide enough a road for tourers but is quite hard going, very twisty and is up hill and down dale.

On the return route we ignored the navigation and stayed on the A484 all the way to Carmarthen - a much better route and kinder to the car and caravan than the B4333.
