How to connect water supply
Hi all,
Sorry a newbie question here. We have bought a 2004 Hobby De Luxe 495 and we are trying to work out how to get running water on board. I’ve found a water heater under the seats but cannot see a water tank. There is not anywhere to connect water on the outside but I have found what looks like a tube that could be for water, I have attached a photo. Could anyone let me know what I need please? Is this for water? Do I need an external tank and pump?
Thanks in advance for any help.

There will be pipes connected to the water heater. Follow them. If you come to a tap it is the other pipe that goes to the source of the water. It is probably behind a small external flap.
It will all be in the brochure/handbook. which is probably on line somewhere.

Hi,
Thanks Navigateur. I have taken another picture of the area under one of the seats that can be accessed from the outer locker door.
Do you think there would have been a water tank here at some point? Would we be able to install one?
Thanks,

you mention a water heater, can you describe it or take a pic? If it is a bigish black curved 'box' with pipes going into it, that is the heater and it will/may have a tank inside it, there maybe is no separate tank.
While you're at in describe/look at all the plastic bits on the outside wall, one of them will have the water inlet under a flap.

Hi Cornersteady,
Thanks for your reply. The last picture I posted shows what I believe to be the water heater, the white ‘truma’ unit?
I’ve been all around the outside and there is nothing that I can see apart from the toilet cassette?
Thanks

hello
Ok where does that black pipe to go? And any other pipes? Is there a separate space heater?

Ok, do they come out in to some form or duct or are attached to the a tap?

Looking at the 2nd photo it looks as if there is something missing? what are the Pencil mark circle? where did you purchase the van from? the only time i have seen a caravan without a system of getting water inside was an ex travellers caravan ,as they do not (for some reason) have any water inside

I think the marks are just where the pipe has been sat on the floor there and left a mark. But it does feel like something is missing, I’m hoping I can retro fit something?
it was sold as seen from a dealer so don’t think I’ll get much help from the seller

There are no taps in that area apart from two that are fixed to the floor and come off the truma?
The only others are the red ones in my other photo.

The taps are gas taps to isolate diferent fitments
Did you buy it from a dealer in Leeds and has it got body damage on the nearside rear? if so it is definately ex Traveller community as it has plastic covers on the seat cushions which is a normal fitment in their vans, so it could be quite difficult to find an answer to your water problem, sorry

They are to shut off the gas supply. There is usually a forth one to heat the water. As that is missing it may be like JVB has described.
Are there any kitchen sink type taps in the kitchen or bathroom?

Kerry, I don’t mean to be harsh but I think you’re out of your depth here and we're struggling as well because we don’t know how the van should be and can’t see what’s been done to it.
Have you got a caravan savvy mate who could take a look at it? Failing that, maybe get a mobile caravan technician to take a look.

so where do those standard taps lead to working backwards? ie where are the pipes from them going to?
