I noticed on the Club Twitter feed the other day that the Club are keeping the site open until the end of 2019, it usually closes much earlier than this. This would allow anyone wanting to visit Blenheim Palace at Christmas to stay on the site. Looking at the availability not many people seem to know about it?

With only 31 hardstandings it will be interesting to see if it does fill up as an older site, but good news with another site staying open later.

The club really do not seem to advertise enough when they extend site opening times late in the season (it is late now)and then wonder why no one goes, then do not carry over for just that reason, undecided

It caught my eye because we usually like to visit somewhere with a Christmas theme in December and I have often wondered why Bladon Chains was not open when the Big House does quite a lot over Christmas. We have been to Chatsworth a few times, Longleat and Warwick on one occasion each. Mind you I have looked at the prices for Blenheims Christmas offering and it is pretty expensive. I know the Club do an offer on access to the Palace during the year but not sure if they do anything for Christmas?

Waddesdon does Christmas David., no need for a over night. Even Blenheim is quite doable on a day trip. Attingham Park from Love to Stay is one worth doing if you wanted a motorhome trip.

I just tested two concessions in November. In the interests of saving money I decided to go forego the "adult" Madhatter tea party but added a £10 ride ticket, (whatever that is?) and no car parking....£91 !!surprised

Having stayed at Bladon Chains last year IMHO the hardstandings need some attention

I booked a non-awning pitch as there is only one grass one, all the rest are hardstandings, will I be lucky!!! I think I worked out the cost of the House visit and the light show as £42 each so for the two of us it will cost as much as staying on the site for four nights!!! Lets hope the Club can come up with a offer.

The grass non awning pitch was opposite our grass pitch when we stayed David. I seem to recall it was sideways on to the field, at least it was away from the road. Bladon were good in offering us all large mats for the grass which we gladly  used!

Only if you live in Bedfordshire,Bucks or Herts !!  some have a little further to come, this IS a club wide forum. There are Many Sites near Christmas events that could benefit from opening over the period.

Glad to see that Bladon Chains is staying open, not so sure about the grass pitches though ?
