Hi all

We will soon be off down to the New Forest and the nearest village to our site is Bransgore. I have done a bit of research and see there are 3 pubs in the village. Can anyone tell me if any of them have a beer garden and also recommend a nice one for meals etc.

Thanks in advance

We have been to the Carpenter Arms a few times but cannot remember a beer garden as a few years since we went, but we had very good meals there, check with the site staff for more information they should know, enjoy your holiday Francis.

We have eaten at the Crown and The Carpenters when staying at Centenary site but our favourite is the Amberwood near Hinton. All I think have outdoor seating.  All have good food.

The Three Tuns and the Crown are both good, Crown has nice outside area but I'm not sure about the Tuns.  The Amberwood (Ringwood Road, just after the railway bridge) is good  and popular but no outside area other than a couple of small tables in the car park probably for the smokers.  The whole area has many pub/restaurants, down in Highcliffe there is The Globe, The Lord Bute (pricey) and a new one supposedly something to do with Raymond Blanc, looks good but we've not tried it yet.  Probably a good idea to book especially on Sundays - us retired locals eat out a lot and that's not counting the visitors.   Good Luck

The Three Tuns has a beer garden - very pleasant area to sit out in - and the food is (or was when we were last there) excellent. Not cheap, though! wink

Thanks for all the reply’s much appreciated. The Three Tuns was the one I liked the look of. Will maybe just need to try them all lol and chose a favourite (will be fun testing them all).

    Many Thanks

One thing about the NF Francis the hotels are often good for food, drinks and coffees, they're used to visitors calling in and often have nice gardens to sit out in. smile

Thanks for the tip Brue. We do like a nice beer garden (if the weather is ok) last year when we were on the IOW there was a lovely little pub down the road with a great beer garden that we made use of most nights. My sister and family are joining us again this year and as they have a little dog outside areas to sit and enjoy a pint are often more convenient for them.

    Thanks

Hope you catch the good weather Francis, I think we've got at least another week to go with it,  perfect for an outdoor pint! smile
