Putting an email address (an alias is best) in one’s profile can sometimes have advantages.

"No offence, but i dont know why they make 8 ft wide caravans, i have difficulty with my 7.15 foot Coachman on some "A" roads and even worse on "B" roads particularly in Devon & Cornwall. I have been to some sites where the access is single track with very tight passing places, where, i am sure an 8 footer would not be able to pass. Not surprised you are loosing mirrors."
Rufs - I've only lost one whilst towing! And that was two years ago when we had a Barcelona at 7'6" wide and without the extra extension arms fitted. Sorry if my post was a bit misleading
We love the extra space in the van but I AM careful where we take it and research new routes carefully - particularly in Devon and Cornwall!!

Unless, of course, you can achieve the legally required vision with the vehicle manufacturers mirrors.
I recently towed one of these Erde trailers to a friends house from Halfords as his towbar had not arrived. I could not see it at all behind my Discovery! Remembering what has been written above, in that circumstance, fitting towing mirrors would have been an infringement of the regulations.
