We've been with Green Flag for several years now. Not had any major call outs but when we have done they have kept us informed and arrived exactly when they said they would.  smile

It depends what cover you have ,because of a "query "with mayday (green flag)about vans in storage,I changed to RAC arrival with "free?"camping club membership which basically worked out the same as a Mayday renewal

How did you manage to get free camping club membership. I have just checked rac arrival and there is no mention of that

Don’t think I will bother £208 for the same cover I get with lv Britannia rescue for £65. It’s cheaper to stay with them an pay to join ccc.

It was £149 including ccc membership, what cover are you after and getting now?

Which was as good cover as Mayday but hopefully better for our circumstances

I'm another with Mayday cover. I've only had to call them out on a car battery issue and was very pleased with their prompt and friendly service.

I have their Premium service which cost just over £100 a year and I believe this service offers advantages over the RAC equivalent.

In my experience and that of my daughter Green Flag has been fine. Mayday through CAMC and Green Flag is also cheaper than RAC Arrival for the same cover.

If you are comparing like for like cover with £100 difference then "the best one to go with" is obvious!

I don't know where the £208 comes from or what it includes and with which company.

Mayday Premium through CAMC and Green Flag is £103.50 and Premium plus is £130.

If you are happy with Britannia that is great but does the £65 include the same level of cover as Mayday? (The basic Mayday cover is £72.)

I'm interested in knowing if it is"as good cover as Mayday" why you hope it will be better. Have you had problems with Mayday? If it is about vans in storage does Arrival offer something different?

The cover is the same as basic mayday but includes home call and caravan recovery, if caravan has a puncture they will change the wheel same as on your car. Caravan has to be on the car at the time

It was advised on a thread earlier this year that Mayday double recovery if the van is in storage and it is the tow vehicle that has broken down, they will only take both to one point ,they apparently will not drop off c/van at storage then car at garage and then passengers to home

Where RAC arrival via ccc will

Clarification of what Mayday is contracted to do , is still with the cc to be advised on here?

But IIRC the post in question was about a caravan in storage hundreds of miles away from the home address.

My Smart broke down a few weeks back on my way to work. I arranged for Mayday to take my car home & then organised for it to be taken for repair myself.

The RAC has been getting some bad reviews of late including one very bad one on the C&CC forum. Mayday has a far better press but it falls short in that if you have a caravan in storage they will not guarantee taking the caravan there and the car to your home or storage saying only if they can be done as long as they are in line at no extra cost and if the driver agrees.

You have to decide which is best for you in the circumstances.
