Hi - I am thinking of going to The Open at Royal St. Georges next year. It would mean my wife staying on site for those two days. Not a problem as she loves reading and relaxing but need to know if there are any nice walks directly from the site?

Many thanks

    Day 1 Bus to Canterbury.

    Day 2 Bus to Hythe.

Will there be time for walks?

The OS map shows quite a few footpaths, it might be worth getting hold of a copy. Alternatively buses to Dover and a day looking round the castle would be good, particularly if you are English Heritage members.

It is in a rural area with plenty of walks. I would ring the wardens to confirm if they have any leaflets as most sites do.

It is on a main road with a good bus service though, so she can get about easily enough.

Reinden wood is nice to stroll around , only a couple of minutes away from site . However some area's are out of bounds as it is a military training ground.
