    I agree - for something actually illegal (e.g. if I spotted a driver using a mobile phone while driving) I might think about it, but for parking in the wrong spot? Really? frown

    No company sacks drivers for parking in the caravan bay!

    There is still a national shortage of drivers, if the driver was sacked then maybe it was because he didn't follow the company rules on obtaining authorisation to stop, regardless of what Bay!

    I work for a very strict company, they would ask why? My reply "hgv parking full", their reply "No further action".

    Sounds like nonsense to me.

     

    Just to flip it around, how many caravans motorhomes park in the coach and hgv bays?

    One picture is Maidstone Services and the others are on Motorway Aires in France.

    my original post was about motorhomes in caravan bays. i definitely wouldn't report an HGV driver, when I tow and find no spaces i have nothing but sympathy for those guys. I'm with wellies and mac and can't believe anyone would lose their job for such a petty thing. My guess (if it's true) he had a long list of misdemeanours and this was the last straw. As for "flipping it around" that was the case at Gloucester on my outward journey when all the caravan bays (northbound) were full and there were several caravans and motorhomes in HGV and coach bays.  This probably makes my original "rant" look a bit silly, for which I apologize but it has raised some interesting thoughts for which I thank you all!
