HGV drivers

Every thing a HGV driver does is recorded and down loaded onto a smart card that can be checked by the police or at the roadside checks no driver would knock a veh out of gear if you do the right foot comes off the throttle and the engine would just tick over so the compressor would not build up enough air and would soon run low on air for brakes as the right foot would be on brake pedal any hidden switches for speed limiter would soon be found and speed would be shown on smart card police and roadside checks know all the tricks so nothing realy happens

Some of the old school transport companys will chuck on a set of well worn tyres before the vehicle has its limiter calibrated.
Then once back with it's new seal, put a new set of tyres on, larger diameter, which then gains the vehicle a few extra mph.
Limited/displayed speed 56mph, actual road speed possibly 60mph.

Yes they normally do but we had to follow one for miles but I think the farmer got the message when the very long line of traffic went past him on a section of dual carriageway waving and saluting him as they did so, well I think they were saluting

I wont mention the lgv driver on the A1 the other day who pulled out to overtake another lgv literally 10ft in front of my outfit!!but I will mention the dumfries and galloway police report this week of an lgv overtaking a car transporter and a vauxhall astra making a three vehicle road block!!!!(not the first time ) on the A75 at Glenluce!!!!!!In both instances the drivers should be prosecuted for dangerous driving with all the consequences for their employment situation!!!!!!
