Help I recently had my van tyres changed and am most unhappy with them to the extent that I am prepared to scrap the new tyres but I need to know the specification of the originally fitted tyres.

The tyres now fitted have only 2 plies in the side walls the original tyres I think had more but  I cannot remember .

Has anyone out there  got original tyres and can help by reading the data on the tyres and the make. or knows the specification . Any  tyre reccommendations would be welcome.

p.s every towing variable has been checked and checked again using the same road and conditions.unfortunately I do not have the original tyres.

You just need two tyres that, between them, can take the gross weight of your caravan ...... 🤔

It would be easier if you put the full tyre marking on the site and the MTPLM of the van. So something like 205/70 R14 88R and 1450kg.

You can then be advised on the safety of the tyre ratings for your van.

What is wrong with the tyres? I assume handling issue when towing.

The make and type of tyre may also help.

On our Genoa iv they are 8 ply rating,(just checked ) so i suspect 2ply is to soft and really not a good omen as they could fail quite soon

That does not tell the full story as there are 3 different tyres in that range.

    Thanks

It is the specific number of plies in the side wall I am looking for (The softer the side wall the more movement of the van)

the ply rating refers to the overall load capacity of the tyre
