I think Bladon is susceptible to water logging so maybe they only released grass pitches once they knew it was OK?

As it does not appear in the list 'Windermere' must fall in this category: All sites have a minimum 2 night booking in peak no matter what pitch type and minimum two nights for Friday and Saturday on any pitch with EHU whatever season.

Been pretty dry in that area. This May, in the UK, was one of the driest on record.

I am quite sure that if the other Club had spare pitches, and we only wanted to stay one night, calling on on the hoof so to speak, that even if they had a minimum stay, they would take our money. Be rather self defeating if they didn’t.

Its the booking in advance for just one night they possibly don’t like.

I wonder what the Club are planning in terms of the tweaked booking service, haven’t heard anything beyond Ro’s initial announcement, months ago now.

Yes, the C&CC restrictions apply to bookings and not to on the day speculative arrivals. Even ringing on the day can get you a single night’s stay.

Thanks WTG, we’re not members now, so lost touch with any cans and cannots regarding other Club. I knew they had certain minimum booking  exceptions, but not the full details.

One of our funniest touring memories occurred at a C&CC site. We wanted somewhere to stop on Hadrians Wall a long time ago, so we pulled into Haltwhistle site. It had been badly flooded, no one else there, just a couple of brisk Wardens scooting around doing lots of things. We duly joined the Club, then were escorted all the way round the very wet, still partially flooded site, to end up back on a pitch two down from the reception! We weren’t bothered, towing with our Jeep, so got a nice frontal bow wave going, but watching the Warden on his bike going the right way round was funny! Pedantry at its finest🤣
