Thanks

I use Milenco Aero 3 mirrors but I have found that they have cracked the black bezel around the mirror assembly, not that it's noticeable when the Milenco mirror is removed unless you take a very close look, but if you are very particular it could be annoying.

As Lutz says, mirrors that clamp onto the frame will crack that frame. There are two options. You can have the inside of the frame packed with a gung which sets rock hard or you can go for car specific mirrors. You can go for BMW mirrors or identical ones made by (I think, EMUK), which are the ones we got for our 2016 X3. They are expensive (about &120) but superb. They clamp around the frame of the mirror and are rock steady and don’t need adjusting every time you fit them.
We changed our 2016 X3 for the new version a couple of months ago and I didn’t want to have to buy new ones so I took mine to the dealers. They fit the new X3 perfectly and also the X5 so that model may fit your X4. Easiest is to just get BMW ones. They sound expensive but as a percentage of the car’s cost aren’t.
I can take a picture of the if it will help.

Hi, I tow with a BMW X4 also and the same thing has happened to me and I’m not happy, 😬 so now looking for new towing mirrors, I’m thinking of going with the BMW type or the other you mentioned EMUK? I have put some super glue on the split to try and stop it getting worse fingers crossed! 🤞

Agreed, I know several people who use Aero 3's with no problem, you do have to be a little careful not to over tighten them. Sounds like very poor BMW build to me.

Now having just taken delivery of a new BMW X3.
I have found my Milenco Aero 3 wing mirrors don’t fit. There is not enough gap between the mirror glass and the plastic bezel. It’s not a cheap plastic problem as others suggest, who may not even have this car, IMO it’s the design of the bezel. I expect when able to look around again,I will end up with the rubber type with plastic hooks on the ends.
Would be grateful from owners what the use0 -

I changed from an F25 to the G01 3months ago.
The milenco mirrors that I got to fit the F25 with the modified clips I find are too tight to fit the G01
I looked at the mirrors available and you are limited to very expensive mirrors , to ensure you don’t cracked the plastic.
I do have a set of the stick on the glass mirrors but don’t like them either.
I have a set of the rubber band type but find too much vibration.

I bought Repusel 3005 Lumax convex mirrors for my Tiguan. Repusel's Dutch website has a 'Find my mirror for my car' facility and photographs for the more popular models. They are very good, and virtually vibration free.
The bad news is that the mirrors are eye wateringly expensive. I paid £137.50 in Feb 2019 when the € Exchange Rate was about €1.13.

Hi I have a 2019 G01 X3 M40i and I bought the emuk mirrors came from Germany via ebay. They are fantastic far better than my previous milenco which don't fit. They also fold in when needed and once set they keep set so you don't have to adjust every time. Also no vibration.
Happy tugging

Same here. I've got a 2019 X5 and my old Milenco mirrors don't fit. I bought the expensive, but excellent EMUK mirrors from Germany.

I have just changed my BMW X1 from 2013 E84 to a 2018 F48 and I use the Milenco mirrors. They fitted perfectly on the first car but when offered up to the newer one (F48) they will not fit above the mirror glass as the gap between mirror and housing is too tight.
However, if you reverse the clamps they will fit at the bottom of the mirror housing. What I don't know is how they will perform in this location and whether the housing is likely to crack, as I had the car during the floods and now we are overtaken by Covid19 so no touring yet.
Have looked at the German ones mentioned in other posts. They look good so I may consider buying a pair and just putting up with the price.
