Hi all,

I am thinking about getting back into CB radio, exclusively for the van.

Has anyone got a rig set up with success, any hints and tips would be appreciated.

Is that not yesteryear's technology superseded by the mobile phone?

Do please let us know if there are more than one of you out there.

CB is now legally multi mode ie CW SSB as well FM and i suppose AM so a good chance of working world wide if conditions are good which they are not at the moment But may i suggest you find a local amateur radio club and sit the foundation course which can be done over a weekend when you pass Ofcom will issue you with a call sign you will then have access to many bands and modes using 10 watts. I've held  my  full licence since 1982 and I set up in the caravan I use a fishing pole but instead of a flag i put some wire on it to use as an aerial and as the warden says as long as its within your pitch and not a trip hazard no problem, with this i have had contacts all over the world
