Hi! We own a  Swift Ace  Globetrotter 2017 model and have recently found, what appears to be stress marks/ cracking or crazing  around  the lower window catches of the front windows. We have been told that they are caused by heat/sun, expanding and contracting the windows. Has any one else had the same problem with their Caravan?    Pete

I guess that’s the standard dealer reply in action

*sorry guv, they’re meant to look like that. There’s nothing to worry about misses”

Needs to be a warranty claim to get these fixed, I’ve never seen anything like this on our vans, and wouldn’t expect it at 12 months

Hi!  Yes our Caravan is not yet a full year old.  I believe that there may be a Design or Materials Specification problem that the Swift Caravan Group  may need to investigate. Especially  if our Caravan is not the only one with this problem

I am considering contacting Swift Caravan Group about this problem'

Just asking. How many Caravan have you owned?

    Peter

I don’t know about CS but I think we've had 8 caravans and 3 MHs and never come across this issue, P&B.

Have you tried the Swift forum? It seems to be what’s often recommended.

Currently on our fifth van, travelled 1000’s miles never seen this problem before

what ever you do don’t contact swift, your contract is with the dealer, pester the life out of him.

that that doesn’t work write on their Facebook page that normally gets a result. Well it did with a well know furniture supplier

Hi  The Caravan Dealer we collected our Caravan from is up near Hull. We are living in the Milton Keynes area.  So taking Caravan back to dealer to sort out window problem Is now  not really practical for us.

We are having one of the washroom sliding doors which was badly scratched by a protruding screw  replaced under warranty by  another more local Swift Dealer.

Also we now have an issue with the Washroom Vanity Mirror which has cracked. The Mirror is not glass but I believe is Acrylic.  We have an idea how the Mirror got cracked but we're unable  prove it.

Your contract is with the dealer who sold it to you, not Swift and not a dealer closer to home. However, the local dealer may agree to carry out warranty work. You can only ask.

That proves the case for buying closer to home. frown

As I have already mentioned Swift Caravans may have a problem, regarding the windows cracking and Crazing around window catches Due to materials etc heating up during warm or hot weather

Hi, I know it's been a while but I was just wondering how you got on, we have a 2017 Challenger with the low profile Dometic windows and have exactly the same thing but around one stay fixing point, we tried to claimed on our Warranty as the van is 2 and half years old and we've owned it for the last 18 months, Swift declined our claim saying any manufacturer damage would have happened in the first year and it was most probably was due to chemical damage caused by a cleaning product!! Seems like they have multiple excuses so they don't have to take responsibility for these problems with their products!
