Are large motorhomes not welcome
I am new to touring and the sort of motorhomes that I have been looking at are Tag axle vehicles in the 28ft range. Are there many sites that do not allow this size vehicle on and is the Tag axle some thing that may restrict us. As I have not bought anything yet I would appreciate some advise, because if it means we will be restricted as to what sites we can get onto I will look at buying a different size motorhome.

The best advice is to take a look at any individual sites you might be interested in visiting, search out the maximum length that the site can take. I know Exeter Racecourse is fine for big outfits, and there are possibly more. So you could quite easily make a list of your own, and see how many site you can visit. Don’t forget the Certificated location sites, these can often accommodate large outfits as well, if you can get the motor to them.
I don’t think it is that they are unwelcome by the way, just the pitch sizes might not be suitable as some of the Clubs sites go back to the days of smaller vans and camper vans. One of the Wardens has a big outfit, he might be able to offer some advice.😀
