At my first service l instructed the dealer to change the jockey wheel on my Lunar Clubman SB to my cost, reason the cheap plastic one lunar supply is not fit for purpose in my view, obviously they would diagree. On a £23000 van is pretty awful, when pacing
the van on most hard standings the plastic jockey wheel would not revolve. Anyone out their feel like l do, l would suppose they would say its a weight saving issue, if so l would rather save 1/2 kilo else where.

I have to say that I have had my SB for three years now and have not had a problem with the jockey wheel. I always use hard standings are find that some are easier to navigate than others.

Have to admit that the wheel on my one year old Delta looks a bit mashed-up with all the hard standing gravel.

However I did have the problem of it not rotating and stripped out the axle only to find absolutely no grease there. Good coat of grease and re-assemble and it worked perfectly. (also doubt if a service would remove the axle to lubricate although they do
put lots on the wind-up threads)

My point is that on a 23k van you would have thought the hard rubber compound wheel would be fitted like Bailey do on all their vans

When we ordered our caravan (allthose years ago) we asked them to replace the jockey wheel with a pneumatic one. I carry the original solid wheel with me as a spare.

l thought of having one but because the lunar fits in side the A frame and not on the outside it won't fit

I fitted a pneumatic jockey wheel to my Quasar Heethers and its fine. Easy enough to do and it works much better with the mover as I depend on that for getting it up and down my drive at home.

l checked mine out with the dealer and wouldn't fit,it was to wide for my Clubman SB. The one l bought works 200% better than the fitted one.

I too have been looking at a pneumatic one. How can you find out what will fit? It's a sprite major 6td.

Pneumatic wheels will not normally ( & if ALKO will definately not ) work as a replacement for the plastic solid wheels as they are slightly larger so foul the metal bracket. You need to buy the entire jockey wheel assembly & replace the standard one. Definately
worth doing if you use a motor mover as solid tyres tend to dig into the gravel.

I was looking at the entire assembly at my local dealer for approx £60-100 (depending which one I bought). What I meant for sizing was fouling the plastic front cover of the hitch?

The jockey wheel on my caravan very rarely goes round ..... just up & down as I raise & lower it .... usually too much faffing to engage the motor mover so just use the car. 😉

bailey don't fit the rubber ones on all vans as this video shows. Dan Trudgian shows how to swap to a heavy duty one. On removal found wheel had cracks in after a couple of months.

Agree with OP looks a bit mean to fit the plastic wheel.  I have just had to change the wheel on my 10 year old Bailey a simple job taking only a few minutes  My old one was falling apart!

Our Lunar has an ALKO wheel. I am not convinced by the product, but it is not a cheap plastic model.
