Hi there. Hoping on the off chance that one or two members have had a caravan stored at Stencils Farm in Walsall, West Midlands. We were given notice to quit by the end of March 2019 as the land had been sold. We were told we would be given a refund as we had paid 12 months in advance. However, they have failed to pay up. Their web site has gone and the phones are not in use.

Angry does not cover it!!! We thought if we could get other affected members together there would be strength in numbers.

Fingers crossed. Thank you

Paulette & Robert

I would pass all the info to the police as this could be classed as fraud. names and phone numbers will help. If there are any caravans still onsite, leave a note with your number asking to ring you. all this might help to find the culprits.

Thankyou lornalou, but all phone numbers are dead and there are no caravans left on the site. There must have been in region of 100 vans....all gone now, presumably owed a refund. Really mad!!!

Why not see if the club's legal dept can offer any suggestions?

Don’t know if trading standards would be interested

If they were a limited company you can check their current status on the companies house website

We had exactly the same situation happen to us as we were told to remove our vans only 3 months after paying the following years storage fees. We instigated proceedings to take the original owner to the Small Claims Court and when he realised we were deadly serious he settled out of court.

Of around 30 - 40 owners there was only two of us who followed it through so he still made a handsome profit. Too many people just couldn't be bothered.

Hi Paulette and Robert.  So sorry to hear about your story - I hope you manage to sort out some sort of compensation from them.

It may be a little far for you, but if you are willing to store in Tamworth, I'd be happy to give you the details of the storage facility we use.  They are not cheap, but are very secure.  Do email me if you are interested (email address in my profile) and I can put you in touch.

A good example of paying monthly instead of full amount upfront the most you can loose is one payment.
