Does it really matter, BB, or is this just another wind up by you two Somerset lads?

We can either have our van door open or closed, or we can have the top half open and the bottom half closed - oh, what a difficult choice! Why would we want the door half open? (Other fractional openings are available! ) wink

Some motor caravan doors have gas struts that when in working condition can hold a door in calm conditions but the knous? opposite us may have a problem in the breeze we have, as it has a bungy cord holding the door attached to the drivers door handlesurprised

what stops the door flip/flopping about in the wind?

    Flip? lol

the same device on the number of motorhomes (posted in this thread that you overlooked) that do not have these struts, they too will flap about I assume?

Prior to joining the A75 which is a major road from near Gretna Green to Stranrear and on to the ferries to Northern Ireland I had followed said sight seeing motor caravan from the New England Bay site through B roads at 25/30 mph which I found to be on the slow side but I was prepared to accept the drivers caution,it was when we joined the A 75 heading toward Dumfries I would have expected a speed increase to around 50 mph and it is this that did not happen which, having read the stupid post I quoted, that prompted my rear window comment!!!now that I have fully explained myself you may be able to see my point (or not!!!undecided

We apparently have a similar problem in Norway, indeed we have seen it ourselves.

The roads up north are not that great, but we seem to get a lot of MHs travelling at around 35mph and holding up local traffic.

These are mainly German tourists, no doubt they are enjoying our scenery, but they have no idea about pulling over to let the locals past, it causes a lot of frustration!

so is that due to the 're-brand' together with increasing MH sales? If so a good forward thinking decision by the club.

well technically it's all the land north of the Humber, ie Northumberland.

There was a BBC radio Newcastle 1st April joke a few year ago where they 'broke' the story that Northumberland was going to be renamed North-tyne-land and Humberside was going back to Northumberland.

    It was really well done.

Oh, how the counties get mixed up and changed. We occasionally get post addressed to South Humberland.

Just out of interest, Middlesbrough was in Yorkshire and still is today as far as Cricket is concerned.

Northumberland is teeny-tiny compared to the mahoosive & all powerful Yorkshire. . .No offence to the other Counties that just don’t measure up🤣🤣🤣😗

    mmmm, Mayhap Northumberlandshire👍🏻
