Kendal site - how long to town on foot?
Hello
can anybody tell me how long it takes to walk into Kendal from the site? I know I could ring the warden and ask, but I expect they are busy this BH weekend and wondered if a fellow member can tell me.
We arrive there at 12 on the last day of the footy season, and my husband is a nervous MCFC supporter and might need to see the final matches on Sky at 3pm.
we are assuming we won’t be able to get a sat signal as the site appears to be very wooded.
He is a fast walker if there is a beer at the end of the walk.
Please can anyone tell me?
Thanks

It's 2 miles - so half an hour? No,that's the other Club. Ours is more than double that. Maybe call Uber?

So about four miles? We would never call Uber...we always use Shanks’s Pony, or I could drive him and drop him off if necessary.
Thanks

We managed a sat signal from pitch 7 with a full tree canopy, but it was a few years ago. Kendal is about 3.5 miles via the riverbank footpath. A very nice walk. However the Strickland Arms about three quarters of a mile, near SIzergh Castle may have a TV showing it. Perhaps worth a phone call.

People do the river walk from the site, alongside the Kent into Kendal. Sorry don't have the details to hand but there are OS maps which would give you the distance. Plenty of sign posts up and the site will have routes, I think some get a taxi back. There are taxi details in the info section.
When the football's over . There is a nice walk (20 mins or so depending on your pace) to the local farm shop LINK which a good café and also a little bit further on to Sizergh Castle NT which has a café etc.

Thanks everybody for the replies, I have the OS map but was finding it difficult to measure without some sort of gadget. Will check with the Strickland Arms too.
Think he will walk in allowing an hour and a half, and I’ll pick him up after the match/trauma is over.

The Davies’s.
P.S. Currently at Hawes, what a fantastic site for walkers. We have had an amazing time. Swaledale from Muker was the best.
