It’s not all about profit, some of us give(not take) to help wildlife, some of us invest in worthy causes not demand a profit. It’s about hearts & souls.

I also think this huge investment is partly down to the growing realisation and need to reduce red meat production and consumption across the world. Maybe investing in this future is for long term gain which clearly many are making!

I will be doing, but as an RME, (reduced meat eater) it's a rare treat which I seem to enjoy even more these 'fewer' days.

Just seen the article. Another so called celebrity  peddling rubbish. How can growing more arable and vegetables using intensive methods of Genetically  modified plants and wholesale use of insecticides etc, be better  for nature in its wider  context. Lets be realistic ,to provide the world population we cant grow them organically. Peddling to the minority rich again and sod the poor. This will decimate the bird, plant and insect population which according to some are already  endangerd. Surely free range animals as a mix has to be better or as a yokel am I missing something

I'm not advocating that beyond meat have the miracle solution but I'm sure a complete, balanced and scientific approach to producing food has to be the right way, one which is sympathetic to ecosystems and global warming. The less insecticides and overuse of fertilisers which leach into the water systems the better. It's all about finding those new and better ways whilst reducing some like red meat production and increase others like hydroponics.

Beyond Meat are just one company at the cutting edge of some of these development. Better than standing still.
