Coniston Park Coppice - road closure

Please be aware if visiting Coniston Park Coppice site that the A5084 - the main access road - will be totally closed for 3 days 1/2/3 of May. Long diversion routes either through Windermere and around top of Coniston Water or via A595 and A593. Warning A593 is very narrow with passing places.

UPDATE:

Apparently the road will be closed from 6pm until 5.30 am but will be open outside of these times.

    Hi Jill, We have just been looking on the cumbria road works website and if you add future work into the a5084 it shows that it is going to be closed by T&K Gallagher for water works, this looks like a separate set of roadworks to the resurfacing ones that are closing the road at night.

     

    We are supposed to be arriving at park coppice on Wednesday and are concerned that the road will be closed  as we keep getting conflicted information from the council and the site themselves.

    Sounds about right for the way things get done.  Resurface the road, then dig it up for water works.
