Northlink Ferries

Not strictly C & MC related…….

On our previous two visits to the Shetland Isles we have booked through the Camping & Caravan Club & obtained a 10% discount for doing so.

However, I cannot currently see any reference to Northlink Ferries on the C & CC “Ferries” webpage.

Neither can I see an e-mail address to ask the question.

So I assume that this discount facility is no longer available.

Is this correct

I hadn’t realised C&CC had NL on their system, Phil. I don’t believe CAMC deal with them and I'd not checked C&CC so I’m afraid I can’t answer your question.

I booked online direct with NL and it was very simple with decent cancellation T&Cs.

I didn't know that either, I did try CAMC but of no help. I'm lucky as I have friends on Orkney who as residents can get friends and family a discount (if I remember to tell them!) So if you know anyone on the islands tell them your plans. smile

Our previous trips were in 2009 & 2013 & I "dummy" booked with Northlink & then spoke to C & CC & got the discount.

We actually do have a motorhoming friend who is now a Shetland resident, so maybe it's time to ask if we really are "friends"!!

    Thanks to you both,

It might be worth giving C&CC a call, Phil.

It'll be good if your friend can do something.👍🏻

I think the resident discount is about 30% so worth a call to friends. smile

Edit here's a LINK with further details, date limits etc.

I guess we are "friends" with our Shetland motorhomers as we now have the discount code for our Northlink ferry trip!!

It gives 30% off the passenger & vehicle costs [but not the cost of the overnight cabin] which equates to a saving of around £100!

That will pay for a few site fees & bar bills!!

Thanks to Brue for pointing us in the right direction!

    That’s well worth having. 👍🏻

I see the discount's not available from mid June to the end of August - the popular months.

    Enjoy your trip, Phil.

Good to hear that Phil, bon voyage to Shetland! (Hoping we might get up to Orkney later in the year, before the Pentland Firth gets too choppy...wink)
