New Motor home magazine
Have just received the May copy of the New motor home magazine from the club . I say Motor home magazine because that it what mainly contains. Why can't the magazine contain something for all. Wish i could get a discount from the Club for not receiving it as it will reduce the recycling.

Really? One review and a few pages covering the Motorhome Design Awards! What about the months when it contains caravan reviews and awards, tow car reviews and tow car of the year results?
I think you’re overreacting a bit, Leyton, and you can opt out of receiving the magazine if recycling is an issue.👍🏻

This is exactly what i was getting at Tinwheeler. Why can't the magazine contain content for both Motor homes & Caravans. Why should i pay for a magazine that does not serve my needs. As this costs the Club money then perhaps there should be a reduction in membership fees if we choose not to receive it

When i started we had the on route which was a magazine suitable for our hobby. not the rubbish that we get now.

It does cater for all but not all at the same time. They can’t physically fit all you want in each issue. Most months lean towards caravans, in my opinion, so is it not equitable that MHs get a look in now and again?
I think you will find that advertising pretty much covers the cost of producing the mag in which case it doesn't cost us anything much at all.
Times change and the days of the rather grey En Route are long gone. Today is about new developments, encouraging the next generation to enjoy the hobby and generally looking to the future rather than backwards. We have to move with the times.

why do you think it costs the cub money? I thought it was self financing by the adverts?

It was called Enroute, and like many other aspects of life, things have moved on a little. What was/is your hobby is now a huge business, and the magazine probably reflects this. The adverts tend to cover most of the cost of production, so a reduction for not receiving it possibly wouldn’t be viable. Do like we do, opt to read it online. We ditched the paper version months ago, and in all honesty I don’t think I have even glanced at it online. Your local library might provide caravanning mags more to your taste, possibly online and free as well.

Yes,times do change....and if you believe all of the crap that going on at the moment the younger generation will be stuck in their caves with no transport to visit other areas,no animals to eat,no fire to cook their vegetables on,no paper magazines and no future!!!!!!

Thanks for that. It’s added so much to the thread and my understanding of human nature😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

It seems to OP is basing his entire view of the magazine on one edition? Surely the editorial team will in some issues deal more with motorhomes and in others more with caravans, it will balance out over the year. Despite being a motorhomer I do sometimes just have a look through the caravan bits of the magazine for old times sake. Is it not possible for caravanners to do the same with articles on motorhomes, at least then you gain a broader knowledge of our hobby.

Yes, select Communication Preferences from My Profile at the head of the page and you’ll find the mag option when you scroll down.

Although a bit of a dire picture you paint your summary is pretty much the situation in a nutshell. What's worse is that its 'our' generation that is very much to blame for the situation we now find ourselves in. It's about time we did something to ensure your predictions do not materialise. It'll be hard but essential in my opinion and that of millions of others.
Yes, things continue to change, they always have, lets hope/make sure those changes are for the better. We have to for the next generations.

Think that Trailer Tent folk have even more to complain about...hardly represented at all in the Magazine. I read all of it, quite a lot of us Motorhomers started with Caravans (us with Frame Tents), So its all relevant. Like to know whats new with Caravans AND Motorhomes.
