Warranty repairs
What is the legal position if a dealer that sold me a caravan cannot repair a fault for many weeks because they are too busy and it prevents me using my caravan, when it's under warranty?
Can I go somewhere else and expect the manufacturers to pick up the bill?

It depends solely on the terms of your warranty.
You don’t say if the van is new or used, if it’s a manufacturer's warranty or an insurance backed dealer's warranty. Without knowing the answers, we can’t even begin to guess but don’t forget you also have legal rights.

Have you contacted Swift, told them the situation and asked if you can go elsewhere? That would be my first move.
After that, if you are stuck with the supplying dealer, I would check out your legal rights as I’m sure there will be something in the Consumer Rights Act about timely repair.
You could contact the club's legal department for advice.

You could threatened them with using a mobile service facility and then recharging it to them. The mobile service will probably be able to diagnose the problem which might be a simple thing.
If they refuse to pay you could threaten them with the small claims court.

Contact trading standards or the caravan club legal helpline if the above suggestions don't work.

Find a service centre local to you that is authorised to carry out Swift warranty work.
We have used such since 1995 and with 5 new vans.

Any Swift dealer or NCC approved workshop can do the work if they are willing, but that might be the catch.
Under the Consumer Protection Act 2015 you are entitled to the repair within a reasonable period not several months or your money,(or most of it) back. Your claim is against the dealer though as your contract is with them.
You should also be able to claim for loss of use if the fault(s) prevent you using it.
If you used a credit card or HP for any part of the transaction then you will also have a claim against the finance company involved.
I would ring the clubs legal helpline for more advice on how to go about it.
