Perhaps those that you talk about can't be bothered to search for alternative cheaper sites and just use club sites as a matter of course, and maybe stay a day or two less than they would otherwise. We will never know for sure as I suspect very few of them are contributors to this forum.

Don't disagree with that JVB, I know how my sons on big salaries spend money, a bit like water in my older eyes.

except, on the times I've been in Screwfix they appear to have more knowledgeable staff.

I couldn't say, CS. I sold the yacht eight years ago. Then I was paying £10 for an alongside berth with water and a token EHU supply for a 31 footer. Equivalent in caravanning terms to a HS club pitch, I suppose.

I expect it all depends where you live as to salaries. Our working age children, like us, live in the low wage capital of the UK. The article is a couple of years old now but still very relevant.

    But still offer lower prices.

I believe Toolstation  was started by the people who started  Screwfix and then sold it go B&Q.  Toolstation prices are usually a little lower than Screwfix, and you will often find their shops almost next door to each other.

One advantage with Toolstation is that they will deliver a £10 order free, with Screwfix it is £50.

    But we digress.

I have!   Shame we can't get them filled when booking in on site.

Now, Costa have a cup that doubles as a points card.  I suggest The Caravan Club introduces something similar to replace the Membership Card.

    you mean like a caravan?smile

actually I mentioned it before of having a points on booking/arrival system leading to some sort of reward (free night), but why would the club introduce that as such systems are designed to get you to shop/use that brand instead of others? the club probably gets that anyway?

When B&Q bought out Screwfix one of the stipulations was that the owner wasn't allowed to open a rival company , he didn't ...his son did !.😁😁. Guessing some corporate lawyer copped a Bol######g 😁.
