Stolen motorhome

Can anyone help me?

When I opened my dining room blinds on the morning of Thursday April 4th I found that my beloved Devon Ford Firefly had been stolen. The police came quickly and number plate recognition cameras had images of it entering the Mersey Tunnel at 4.50 am? I live in Prestatyn in North Wales. The van is based on the Ford Transit Custom and is gold/silver (Tectonic Silver). As my wife is disabled we had some modifications and the most obvious one is a chrome vertical pole at the side sliding door to help my wife to enter and leave the van. It is also wired up for a motor step with power plug at the side door. It also has cab curtains to replace the suction pad quilted screens supplied by Devon.

If anyone spots it then please let the police know. My wife and I are desperate to be reunited with our pride and joy.

    Mersey Tunnel to Liverpool to ferries doesn’t sound too promising I’m afraid. 😕

    While I was in North Wales last week, near Rhyl there was an overnight unsucessful attempt to steal a caravan off the site I was on. Two nights later they raided the same site's storage yard cutting the locks off the gates and successfully stealing one from the yard ignoring all the other easier targets on site. Nobody heard a thing including us which they had to pass to leave the site. I would not be at all surprised if it wasn't the same lot who had your van.

    Theft of vans in our home territory seems to be on the rise as well with another caravan being stolen a few weeks ago.

    This story is 10 days old now....Stable empty, horse long bolted.

    Hope the OP has good insurance and gets full value for his Firefly  nice van, shame about the Transits vulnerability.

    Back to old fashioned physical deterrents Wheelclamps, steering wheel locks etc., anything that slows them down , reverse drivers seat and lock it there.   Electronics have let us down.

    Manufacturers have lost the plot, need to up their game..

    Unfortunately rayjsj they come armed with oxyacetylene cutting gear these days.Quick and silent.  Nothing seems to stop them, if they want it they take it.
