Has anyone ever had a reply from the club following a email that is critical of the club.
I have recently emailed via the website regarding the prices this year like York £39 a night, Castleton this we £36 per night and take Castleton it has poor WiFi , poor tv reception and no tv plug in at the pitches ok lovely area etc but £36 per night. The club are taking the mickey with extending the holiday period why even have a holiday increase we are a club , we pay to join then we are taken advantage of,you don’t pay to join tui or P and O why should they penalise not only families but everyone who wants to go away during the ever expanding school holiday periods.
I pointed out how the club does not represent its members with regards to the Caravan industry it has cosy relationships with manufacturers which are detrimental to the general member.
with further regards to prices I think people are starting to question the value for money ,I have never seen as much availability at the so called premium sites like Rowntree Park, Chatsworth etc.
Never had a reply so is there any point

Not that I would want to book one in advance, as the weather might end up unsuitable for a MH on grass. However, when I input a couple of bookings to check prices in June, I was not given the option of grass Non EHU. The only option was HS with EHU. If I changed the details to caravan the option was there. Perhaps they only let you book them for MH's at short notice, when the weather is certain. Which would make sense

Steve I am surprised to hear the option changed when you put in "caravan" I've not seen this happen. Usually pitch choices are based on what is available. I've just booked a C&CC non ehu in Sept, however at £15 plus it wasn't a cheap option but cheaper than the CAMC non ehu I've booked at Steamer Quay on another date.
The site pricing for both clubs reflects the time of the year and the popularity of individual sites.

For the first time in about 15 years (I think) we booked a CCC site last night. After reading the pros and cons on here of their pricing vs CMC, i was somehow expecting it to be cheaper than it was (£123.40 for 4 nights - £30.85 a night). But it's the week immediately after Easter so it's to be expected.
And it's where we want to go (Bala), so no complaints!
And, maybe because I'm more used to the CMC, the booking process seemed a bit odd (but can't explain why, so don't ask!)

A very interesting discussion covering a range of related issues. Since writing the original posting, my cousin (fellow motorhomers and Club members) told me she'd spent 6 nights on two top quality Premier-listed sites in Devon and Cornwall, both of which were notably cheaper than C & MC sites. Obviously the prices rise in the main season, but that's the case with the clubs too. Off-season it is, sadly, often better to avoid 'our' clubs if on'es at all concerned about value for money.
As for the C & CC, we camped at Tavistock, Devon, in January for a night one a small hard-standing with no outlook - around £22, I seem to recall, then a night in pleasant surroundings at the commercial site, Hidden Valley in North Devon, with similar facilities - £12.50. So there's not much to choose between the main clubs.
I've watched the changing management practices of the clubs over the last 40 years or so, and they are very much commercially drive now, with the main feature of a membership as a ready-made (near captive?) market. Their best benefits are the certificated locations...
