Looking at an advertisment in this month's club magazine for self leveling of caravans. I understand the first part of this auto system ,leveling from side to side by going up a ramp on whatever is lowest side, it then states that it levels from front to back using the corner steadies, I have always believed that you should not use steadies to raise caravan as it puts undue strain on the frame and structure , the answer may be in the name Corner Steadies, or have things changed ?

don't think it puts stress on the chassis more on the steadies themselves and that is why the steadies are changed to heavy duty ones.  could be wrong though.

Side to side levelling is achieved using hydraulic jacks fitted to the axle.front to rear by heavy duty steadies, first the front and then the rear so no stress is put on the chassis/structure.It is fully automatic.

Since I got my Lock and level, the levelling of my caravan is a breeze. I used to think how nice it would be to press a button and see it all magically level up but not now, I can get it spot on every time.

sweetyman the advert I saw did not involve hydraulic rams to level side to side only a ramp to level side to side.
