could anyone recommend the best route from York site to whitby please

    A64 to Malton then turn off onto A169 to Pickering and over the moors, lovely drive.

    I have towed my caravan both ways on Sleights hill without a problem, any good combination will breeze it.

    Thanks hubby decided to be cautious and go long way round am sure it would have been nicer scenery

    If you're thinking of going through Scarborough - I wouldn't.  Even at 'quiet' times the traffic into Scarborough and onto the Whitby road is horrendous.  You are better off going through Seamer and going around Scarborough on the north west ring road - coming out just by the hospital.  We go up the east coast regularly and avoid like the plague going into Scarbro'.  Let me know if you want  more precise details.
