Caravan taps
Hi all
Hoping you can provide me with some suggestions please. Had our caravan serviced a few weeks ago and have spent today doing a thorough clean before our 1st trip of the year tomorrow. Bought a new water filter and just running some cleaning fluid through the system before changing it. Followed van instructions and opened the hot tap in bathroom sink to fill. Some water ran through but stopped even though pump light still on (presumably filling hot water tank). So tried shower instead and that runs fine hot & cold. But nothing through sink tap. Kitchen tap runs but very feebly. Opening sink tap doesn't even turn pump light on on control panel. Any suggestions please as no time to take van anywhere before trip tomorrow. I've checked where the pump connects to side of van and no leaks.
Thank you!

It would help if we knew the type of water pump/system that you had.
If you have a Truma system have you changed the carbon filter lately?
If not take it out and try your taps again. (You can leave the filter out as it is not needed)
This worked for me in similar circumstances.

could be a air lock turn all taps off then open nearest to tank, if febble put hand over outlet and pressure should build up release hand then do next in line. worth a try worked on a old van of mine.

Check the small mesh filters in the tap nozzles. My ones blocked up with limescale. They normally unscrew, try running the taps without them in.

Thanks for the suggestions - much appreciated. I should have said this is a Whale system with the submersible pump into Aquaroll. It's weird as the shower works held into the sink fine, but turning on the sink tap doesn't even activate the pump. Will be an early start tomorrow to try some of your suggestions. Failing that an emergency trip to local caravan centre. I wondered whether new seals ont the outside of the van connection? Or even a new submersible pump?
Thanks

Not sure what taps you have, but I wonder if the taps have filter/ air nozzles fitted to the ends. These can be a place for debris to collect. It’s normally a case of unscrewing it and flushing it clean.

you've already proved the sub pump is working as shower and kitchen work. I would try taking out the ceramic cartridge in the tap and giving it a clean or replacing it as not very expensive, or split the connectors where the tails from the tap join the pipework and then turn pump on again and see if water comes out of pipes ( into a bowl ) and that would tell you if its the pipes or the tap itself.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I was able to unscrew the end of the kitchen tap and wash the filters. This resolved the kitchen tap, then bought an adjustable vwrench on the way to the campsite and did the bathroom tap when we got here. Sorted! Much appreciated all.

Glad it was simple and cheap to fix.
