Caravan search for Dacia Duster

From Practical Caravan magazine, hope it helps you:
One of the Duster’s limitations as a tow car is the modest kerbweight, which gives an 85% match figure of 1164kg for the diesel 4x4. The legal towing limit is 1500kg. Choose the two-wheel drive, and the 85% match figure falls to just 1088kg and the legal towing limit drops to 1200kg.

The only conventional thing I can find is the Xplore 304 which is very small. I did try ti find the web site for Freedom but could not get the weights but they might work but are basic in the extreme.
You might find a Nova or other pop top if they are acceptable but whatever you get will be very tight.
Basically the car might be good at the weight range, but the weight range probably does not have what you want in it.

Sadly the Duster is a very light SUV. But remember the 85% figure is only a guide. Many of us have towed quite succesfully with a raio of 95% or 100%. It would give you more options. You may not have to rush to change your car. I've also found the data held on the matching sites is not always accurate. Check it against the vehicle weight on your V5 document or go to a weighbridge.

indeed, yet at one time the club had a offer for a free towbar when you bought one.

Perhaps they were for those towing folding caravans, or trailer tents, both allowed on CC sites.

yes could well be. And I think for those swift Basecamp type vans it would be ideal

Without knowing the car details, trying to help is a pointless exercise. Op needs to offer more info.

And the OP may simply have to bite the bullet and buy a heavier car. I recall looking at the Duster with diesel and 4wd and it is light. As others have said you need to check the V5C for actual vehicle weight, don’t get hung up on the 85% ratio (outdated concept which only the UK use) and go from there.
