Deliberately arriving early

As someone who uses all types of club sites. So its factual information, there are always overseas outfits, albeit in the minority, on club sites. Inland, coastal, and all times of the year when I have been there and I have seen them turn up on spec regularly.
I cant see how you can say its not so when you don't use them, that would be like me telling everyone about the sites you visit ? I wouldn't have a clue as I don't use them.
On a similar topic, we witnessed a warden at our storage site (Alderstead Heath) trying to help someone on Monday. they wanted to make a booking and were quoted £400ish as non members. the warden tried to explain if they joined the club for £50 she could reduce the pitch fees by over £100 but they didn't wan't to do that.

Crikey, How has the debate on overseas users overtaken this thread?
Just for the record, we have often stayed alongside overseas members on Club Sites, Wincanton, Marazion, Yellowcraig, Old Hartley, Berwick Seaview, Low Moor, Rosedale Abbey, and lots more. And of course a lot call into CLs, but sadly cannot stay unless they are members. Many’s the conversation we have had with German, Dutch, Italian, French MH tourers.........who wandered onto our favourite Cornish CL.😁

Morning
To bring things away from "over there" and back to the op.
I mentioned earlier on that the op had asked the question although in a different way which was denied. Early in January you asked if it would be ok to stay on the late night arrival area at around 11pm for an early book in the next morning. I advised then what to do but that didn't meet favour. On another forum you say you didn't know I was posting as a warden, so I'll apologise for that. The outcome is still the same.
Some interesting comments have been made some of which I'll be talking with my area manager when I get back to it. But, while the booking, arrival, payment and pitch choosing procedure is how it is now, you have to arrive with your outfit on the first day of your booking, pay, choose and occupy your pitch.
I will reiterate that we are flexible on arrival times as and when we can.
I understand you have amended your bookings for your holiday and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Far from a ridiculous proposition AD. Irrespective where the site is and when it occurs, it happens a fair bit. Why wouldn't I accept someone that turns up on spec and give them that pitch that I know has vacated early? I care not for the financial side, I think of the practical, an empty space? yes take it. Last August I ran at 108% occupancy the whole month!
There's more hens teeth than you'd care to know about

It does seem strange to me, David, that someone like yourself who makes such a big play of being able to arrive en spec at sites in Europe, where, apparently it's very common, should refuse to accept, even from a warden, that it also happens on occasions over here?
