Do you think it's a youngster Oneputt? It looks quite downy in places, lovely to see. Smile

That was my thinking but can't be totally sure.

The neck rotation whilst looking about is incredible, very owl like

It's great to see these raptors being celebrated and much loved. Others aren't so lucky with a mindless few persecuting them as they do!frown

    OP

Watchpoint doesn't open until next week, slight delay due to weather.

My first attendance will be Friday, fingers crossed for hatching.

These birds have been on the spire all winter, this is definitely their home territory.

In a previous year a peregrine bought in a headless Teal and dropped it at the feet of a tourist, quite spoilt her visit.

The Trust are putting a volunteer into the Castle to keep visitors informed via a large TV showing live coverage of the nest site.

Still didn't see the SEO at Oulton.

    Good news OP.

Local Wood Larks are about and the male was displaying this morning and as OH cut the plot last week they like feeding on all the insects and they are difficult to see as if they hear a noise they just dip down in a hollow in the ground.

Plenty of butterflies around even had a scarce swallowtail and a common blue about the lilac not quite out so should be a few more about soon.

There's some wonderful photos on the following website, particularly of a Short Eared Owl. Can't copy them as they are Copyrighted.

Scroll down past the recent sightings on the Home Page.

Sorry for posting it on the Peregrine page OP. Thought I was in the What have you Seen page.

Agree with you about the SEO. Wondered what the heck it was when I scrolled down. Doesn't look happy does it?
