This CL (Kaker Mill) is about 5 minutes from M6  J36, off the A65.

And Mrs Clarke is a legend.

That would make the C&CC site at Staveley a better option, I think. smile

That’s the CAMC site, Corners, and I wasn’t keen either. Sorry if I confused matters - my description to Kj was of the C&CC site. 😗

If you decide to travel a bit further south Kj, we have stayed at Herons Wood CL, see HERE. Nice area and easy access from the M6 near Lancaster.

    Thanks brue, another good one.

I note however that many of these CLs are on grass, which makes me a little nervous due to the weight of our twin axle and amount of rain we get on the west coast!   Ideal however in weather like last summer.

I was selecting EHU and hardstanding, so these sites did not come up.

I think there is a hardstanding area near the owners house so might be worth a phone call if you decide to try that CL.

Kaker Mill is all grass, Kjell, and can be quite muddy if the weather's been wet for a while.

Thanks Nellie.  Yes I looked at the reviews, so I would not book there months ahead, but could be useful as a one night stopover booked just beforehand, in summer

Kjell, it's close to the M6 so easily accessed but a good bit further from Windermere than I think you want.
