...and why shouldn't the club learn form some of those organaisations (which you quote with unswerving regularity) as they all have processes or standards in some areas which the club could learn from..

I did not realise that it was Moulesy that kept quoting about other organisations. Doubtless the CC watches the opposition.

not everything they (or the club) does is right, but by emulating the best parts of all the competition will bring the overall standard up...

I would have thought that, over the years, it is the opposition that has emulated the club and now concentrates on what its core membership requires.

they aren't necessarily perfect, but the club has things it could learn from all these you quote...

Indeed they are not perfect and as I said the CC doubtless observes.

but the crux of the OP, and of much of the arguing, is that Cc hasn't done much to embrace the way MHers tour...

ok, we've had the sop of the (loooong awaited) MHSP upgrades....still going...but no changes whatever (that i can see) that takes into account the fast turnaround 'quick visit and move' linear pattern of touring that is the very fabric of MH touring when compared to the 'pitch up for a week and explore (over and over) in the car' style that's typical of caravanners

Not sure of the fabric of MH touring in the UK as the sites (CC, private and recently the C&CC) that I use I rarely see evidence of these MH users moving any more frequently than the caravanners overall.

So, put simply, you have no idea what you are talking about apart from knowing what you want.

"Harped on" - now isn't that one of those phrases you've  objected to in the past? surprised

Anyway, it's good to have made it clear that  the sort of "fabric of MH touring" you're advocating is based on a sample of ....er.... 2 people! undecided

I can't imagine that on many mainstream sites but with CC refunds for early departure are possible

You have used club sites and have your own experience. It seems that you wish to keep using them but would prefer to do it for a cheaper price.  So what is your club experience

well you "harped on" for an answer so I gave you one....

of course I don't know what the true answer is...its impossible for anyone not polling many MHErs to know, is it?

I even said so, and I gave you an answer just to satisfy your continual 'curiosity'.....(I'm trying really hard to be polite here....)

yet you still went on about it....undecided

you don't have the exact figures to hand? OK I will wait until you have the chance to root them out if you stop making ridiculous unsubstantiated statements. Meanwhile I shall start meal prep

Well thank you for that ... er...polite answer!

I think we've now established the basis on which you're claiming to speak, so certainly no need to harp on further (for either of us)! laughing

So you admit that there are plenty of alternatives so why should the club in east even more money in "nightstops"for the odd possible user when the odd possible user as your post plenty of options already

obviously you didn't teach (strict) mathswink

what do you mean there are two of 'them'....are you being discourteous, you know, like the Usual Subjects or other collective nouns?

i think you'll, find that there are several posters who've supported the OP....while about half a dozen have 'harped on' in the opposite camp.

bit like Brexit, can't get a majorityundecided

No, I mean the 2 that you know about - you and that bloke you spoke to about it! (Or possibly that Lady you spoke to about it). laughing

PS - I was really just replying to JVB's comment about "odd" users - I could have been a lot less courteous! wink

PPS - although English wasn't my forte,  I believe the word "two" cannot be regarded as a collectivery noun. Now if I'd said "the pair of them. ..."! laughing

I don't have the exact figures to hand but it could be as many as 50% of all MHers.....

I would go further than that  based on the fact only about a third of the motorhome owners in the UK are members of the Club,(derived from 30 percent membership figures) The majority of the 250/300 thousand motorhome and campervan owners don't see membership suiting them.

Give it up BB, leave it to the Club to give feedback. I would have thought you would have realised you are wasting your time on those with their head in the sand.

"I would have thought you would have realised you are wasting your time on those with their head in the sand."

That’s rather rude, PD. Just because some have different opinions, doesn’t warrant use of such a description. I’ve seen several unpleasant personal traits revealed in this thread in support of various claims and wants but I’d not dream of being impolite and naming them.

The worst I can imagine is the view from behind of those with their head in the sand.  But it does show from where the design of the new logo was obtained.
