So what did the Club ever do for Motorcaravanners?

Didn’t mean to pester. Just wondered if you used them as I couldn’t recall you ever mentioning one. Do you use them with your MH now? Reason for asking is we use a lot and find they make UK touring very easy and economic.

I think that although you didn't mention space you did say how much better these particular aires were than CC sites. I suppose Kev assumed that you meant that they were reasonably spaced and had some reasonable facilities.
If not then what, other than the fact that they are across the water or reasonably priced makes them way better DD? I admit that I am now confused.
Kev didn't say that he did not like them and he may well say why he used this one he referred to

I did to which you replied.
I havent said I don’t like Aires all I was nearly doing was replying to your comment that the aires in Silves were better than camc sites, prey tell how are they, little facilities, little space and little character. Please don’t twist my posts, reread if you have to, you were the one who said the aires in Spain were better than camc sites, you were the one who said all 3 aires in Silves were better than camc sites, I just said they weren’t.
The problem you got is you have posted so much you can’t remember what your saying or who sad what. Keep up man

I have no complaints over provision for MH's on CAMC sites. Although the CC certainly don't seem to have embraced MH's when it comes to putting them on your profile. Managed to delete our caravan details easily enough. However, adding our new MH is quite another matter.😂
I can't get past Hymer, as that and the reg number are the only things I can put in. The model range isn't listed despite the fact it has existed for about 4 years, most of those that are seem to be about 10 years old. Therefore the only thing I can select is other and input dimensions manually. Then it rejects the form as I haven't specified a model and a year.🤔
I suppose I will have to bother them with a phone call tomorrow and see if they can put it in. Otherwise I have to enter the details every time I book.☹️

Further up the thread you will find I posted a link to the website of one in Palencia. Frankly if you can't find them then you are not looking in the right places or not bothering. Google Aires in Silves (Portugal). There are three there all way better than the average CC Ltd sites. Also have a look at Camping-Car Park for places in France.2 -
remember DD has admitted he likes winding people up, this is one example?

...and as you asked me, too....
we use CL/CS when we feel like it...Lyme Regis, Minehead, Fordingbridge come quickly to mind along with many CCC THS sites, so we do regularly choose the easy and economic option when it serves.
when in the uk we often tour with pals and thier choice of site may influence where we go..
in fact, using a string of THS sites is one of easiest was for their members to tour impromptu, as no booking reqd, no need to specify duration and pay on departure....

I had forgotten you used THS sites BB. Never been on one, but we are not members at the moment.

...and I do use them, M, but the thread was about what CC hasn't done for MHers, not C&CC...
job not done

It is what I have often said, those who use club sites the least make the most posts about changes for the club they would like.
Some for their own ends (cheap pitches at the expense of others), which is sort of OK, after all look after number one, but then there are those who have stated they wouldn't use club sites even if those changes were made.

as a fully fledged motor homer now I say job done

This was in 1979, but according to the AD principle that means...Oh my goodness, I'm a over there off grid MOTOR-HOMER
I was somewhat concerned to read this. How you found the need for counselling at any stage in the last forty years, Corners?

I think it explains a lot of things!

But surely the point is that the sort of "unplanned touring" you're so fond of, when not using top end sites, is already available with just a little effort and research.
So, since apparently so many club sites are "in the wrong place" (not your words, I know) what is the need for anything more?

but StuartO may not be in C&CC and its his OP I am supporting...
yes, I can do some unplanned touring with them on their THS sites, but im also a member of this club and I'd like to see them doing a bit more for the impromtu touring element of the club...the sort of thing we intrepid MHers are famed for
Im sure touring means something different to different folk, but to me it doesn't mean pre-planning every day...we like to change direction, linger or move on early....
with THS sites this is easy to do but CC has no similar system which is why I agree with Stuart....
however, I've already said I don't believe this will be acheived with new sites, rather a change in the current offering.
