So what did the Club ever do for Motorcaravanners?

If you want a cheap no frills site use a CL or similar, night stop. If you want to stay on a club and have all the benefits of a club site then pay up to use one.
And further up (or is it down) the scale, if you want on-site bakery, pool, karioke, fancy dress contests, and such, there are commercial sites which will provide.
I think it comes down to some folk planning badly and ending up in the wrong place. The sites are, of course, in the right place.

Sure I would. Not sure where that one is, but Croatia looks fabulous. My sister spent time in Yugoslavia, can’t remember where, but she said it was a lovely place. I find trying to recall all Balkan countries and how they are now governed an exercise that needs constant reference, but Croatia really appeals. Lots of history, lots of Roman influences. And warmth on the Adriatic. Found it strange last time I swam in warm seas, that was Greece. No “oo ha, crikey, that’s cold” factor😂
Cornwall in September can be balmy on an incoming tide, once the sand underneath has warmed up. Have done the North Sea as well, (February, young and stupid!) memorable for the shiver factor! We used to be into wild swimming, (no wetsuits) but OH is now banned.

"... or book a max of one day in advance and max duration of one/two nights etc...they would serve the purpose many are advocating.... making impromptu touring easier, yet still have a pitch guaranteed on arrival."
'twas one or the other...either no booking or as I typed as above...(and in my previous post).... which you (no doubt, deliberately) missed to make your point, as you omitted the salient part...
in most places where we have used this type of facility, the short turnaround (max stay 24/48 hrs) keeps the flow moving and allows the many passing through to make use of them.
the only 'impossibility' is making sense of your biased, badly quoted, posts.

And there's the dilemma for the club - you want new pitches, wherever, at a reduced price, DD is arguing for existing pitches at half price, PD probably wants something different from both of you. All the club can realistically be expected to do is to provide for the vast, vast majollity of its members. And this is what it does pretty well IMHO. The changes that would work for you wouldn't work for DD or, probably many others.

Good and selective try to dig yourself out of that one ( I'll pass on your remarks to the others that picked on on your error shall I?) apart from you put in a comma, (before the yet) and therefore (and I've checked with a former head of English here) the guaranteed pitch applies to both. It is called a serial comma. Others (ET, nav, and PD - I wonder why you only picked on me?) read it the same way as me I assume.
I've found a good site to help in future in making yourself clear.
here (the name of the web page has nothing to do with me btw)
Good flow perhaps but nothing except booking can guarantee a pitch. All it takes is someone to get in before you.

I'm not personally aware of there being relatively that many CC site users advocating what you propose that aren't catered for elsewhere and more appropriately perhaps.

even with a one day in advance/max stay won't guarantee a pitch?

Yes I agree. Are "many" advocating this? I've asked several times for estimates of what proportion of club MHers (let alone MHers as a whole) might want to tour in UK for several weeks in the "continental style". Seems, to quote dear old Mr Rumpsfeld, to be one of the great unknown unknowns! Hardly worth the the club making major moves in that directon with little evidence that it's required.

I’m so enjoying this thread👍🏻🤣

I agree with both. Surely even those making any new style of anything, say shoes for example, test the market somehow to see if it will sell?

Have you ever used CLs DD?
Edit: off topic, but might be of interest. As an ex Pools Manager, first rule of keeping healthy, avoid public jacuzzi’s. Unless you carry a water test kit. Once stayed with other like minded colleagues, conference at a big complex of hotels with three pools and six jacuzzis. For a laugh, before taking the plunge, we tested them all. Pools were fine, but five out of six jacuzzis didn’t pass. We opted for the pools. Languishing in other people’s warmed pee did nothing for us.........

how silly, of course the club will not do anything of the sort
would like CC Ltd to accept that for the most part their sites are nothing but basic (power, water, waste, and public lav style facilities) similar to many Aires, etc. over here, and start pricing accordingly
and why should they, they have thousands of contented customers , would suggest you take more water with it and stay out of the jacuzzi, all that water sloshing about in your head is having a serious affect on your judgement.

That’s a cracker, DD. 🤣🤣🤣

strange how these Germans were very keen to come over and camp here last century

you believed it actually happened? A big coincidence if it did yesterday and today, they must be bereft of things to talk about

Well, the most unbelievable post on this thread to date. I have just spent 74 days in Spain and I can honestly tell you not 1 aire has been anything like a club site in terms of standard, space and facilities. I’m sure anyone who has stayed at aires in this part of the world will know this also. You have just shattered the the tiny amount of reality you had in your previous posts with this complete and utter fabrication.
please post some pictures of these aires (not sites) that are up to and better than club standards I’m sure we are all interested.

why not if you'd booked it?...it wouldn't matter whether a pitch was booked the day before or months ahead, would it?
just like you book your pitches....they're guaranteed, aren't they?

ah, brilliant corners, let's have a dozen CC sites testing out this new idea.....if it takes off, roll it out network wide...
need to explain it properly though, we don't want confused customers cocking the whole thing up...
