Cracked shower tray.
We've discovered a crack in the base of our shower in the van. Have sealed it, hopefully with waterproof tape at the moment but has anyone managed to expedite a proper repair. I don't really want to go to all of the trouble of replacing the whole tray if that can be avoided.

To do a proper repair the shower tray would need to be removed and repaired from underneath.Having said that there is a chance that a specialist in abs repairs might be able to do it from above. When I was in the trade we used to use a company called bath rescue and he was very good. You may be able to find someone local ,worth a "google"!

Thanks each. Mylo, I'd appreciate the name of that firm, please. I have had a quick look on YouTube and there are a few posting on there that demonstrate DIY for the job, but am a bit dubious of doing it myself.

Here's a couple of links. I've not used any so cant vouch for their work.

We only noticed it this week....the van is now in it's 8th year and I would guess that we've used the shower somewhere in the region of 2500 to 3000 times, so I suspect it's general wear and tear that's caused the crack to open. The base does not feel as if it's unsupported.

Thanks for the links. I'll talk to my mobile service guy first, but it's good to have others who I can contact.

Thanks, Boff. Another one to think on.

Hi. Not sure if anyone is still following this discussion but we also have a fairly serious crack in the shower tray of our Swift Charisma 570 due to flexing and insufficient support. I got a quote from some plastic shower specialists which was well over £1000 to replace the tray so want to do it myself using a kit (as mentioned by others here). I want to drill a hole or two first though and put some expanding foam under it but, question: Are there likely to be any cables or anything else important running under there which I risk drilling through? Thanks.
