Whale water pump EP 1612 fault

hi getting caravan ready for our first trip plugged the whale pump in and connected to aquaroll to flush system through and as soon as I switched pump on it blew the 10 amp fuse in the van.

Rep,aced fuse plugged in my spare pump and the spare worked fine, tried the first pump again and fuse blew again.

This is the interesting bit I rang Whale in Northern Island for advice and told there will be water ingress in the pump and it cannot be repaired.

I said how can a water pump have this issue it is supposed to be in water and pump it around the van, sorry that’s it it is no good bye.

never had a problem with truma, anyone else had this?

    It can happen with any make if the insulation breaks down. How old was the pump?

    Less than 2 year they are guaranteed 1 year apparently have emailed them saying as with the nature of caravannig it could have been used foe 6 weeks or so and as such I feel it is not fit for purpose.
