Glamping Pods
We stayed at Moreton-in-marsh site last weekend, and were very impressed with the new pods that the club have set up on part of the old dog field. They have moved things around a little, but both the dog area and childrens play field are still large in size. Some people may like them on site and some may not, it's a matter of choice, but I think it's a great idea and looking to the future. I think Hill Head was the first to have a swimming pool and Bistro, we stayed there for a week last summer, and enjoyed it very much. So the point I am trying to make is that the club try to provide things for all tastes, like them or not.

I think it’s about making money as well, but we applaud some of the new innovations. Mind you, still found unchanged Nunnykirk one of the best Club Sites.

We used them at the Coniston site, well I mean we were in our van daughter and partner stayed in a pod. I was very impressed with it, it had basic furniture, heating and lighting, and it meant we could have a holiday together. These were the basic pods but there are even more up market ones on site as well as two Airsteams. I recall they were all being used.

I think the club has to diversify to survive and some forward thinking is a good thing.

I agree Tinwheeler. Feedback from folk is that such accommodation has been used by caravanners families and friends who do not have their own units, but want to get away with those who have. It also give people a chance to experience a CAMC site before purchasing a unit themselves.
Another thing to consider, is that with the changes in the motor trade i.e. the increase in 'greener' and smaller vehicles with a lesser capability to tow, are we going to see a decline in caravanning and an increase in the type of accommodation that is already set up on site?
All things to consider, I guess.

That's good to read, thank you for posting it.
We have booked one for my Mother in law to stay in when we go to Moreton in Marsh in April.

They have a fully fitted, normal flush toilet and walk in shower.

Going to be an interesting trip, she is 94, can't walk very well and disabled.

I got curious about these Glamping pods so had a look. They look very nice, and get FREE WiFi too, unlike us mere members, who have to pay for it....

Look, this is real glamping - Featherdown Farms style. This Club doesn't know how to do it.

of course not, the club never does anything well in your eyes does it?

But this company doesn't have touring outfits does it? It is not even a site. It is just a glamping holiday organisation. Not a real comparison then at all? Or you suggesting the club should focus all it's resources along this route?

I think they are a fantastic idea,
We try & get away for a long weekend as a family each year & usually rent a house (for 15)
this year we have two glamming pods for my brother & sister & families
Plus my mum & dads caravan & our caravan all headed to Coniston for 5 nights at Easter,
I’m not sure who is more excited me or the kids !!
Plus im saving a packet! 😉

Thanks so much for sharing this video. I just wanted to let you know that since that video, there have been a few changes. Based on customer feedback we do now have some dog friendly units, no gas BBQ’s but built brick BBQ stations and although no cooking rings at Abbey Wood, the pods at Brighton, Coniston Park Coppice and Moreton-in-Marsh do have 2 cooking rings in each pod.

At Daleacres we have the yurts. They don't have their own toilet facilities but share those on site.
For more information on the different accommodation types have a look here
We are absolutely delighted that the pods, yurts and airstreams have enabled members to enjoy your holidays with friends and family. And don't forget, we currently have an offer where members stay for free on Wednesdays, plus save an extra 10% on glamping.

Thanks, we did know about some being dog friendly and that is what we have booked. There won't be a dog staying there with my Mother in Law over night but we will have our two with us.
