     I have just spent the last 2 1/2 months in Spain so I know what happens “over here” as well

    David really you have posted that you  pay and book/reserve a pitch on some site over there, Are you now saying that you didn't?

    sometimes on club sites you walk, sometimes you drive.

    as fast as possible as in 5 mph you mean

    All I did BB was to point out to David from his post he said he turns up gets told what’s available and he has a wander to choose, I said thats the same as CAMC you turn up wander around ( or drive as you like to think in all club sites all the time)) pick a pitch and let reception know. Im sure there are many differences but I just replied to waht AD siad in his post.

    I do not see much of a difference as you pay when you leave for your stay,than getting a refund if available,when leaving early on a cc site?

     David does not book a pitch. He reserves one in a particular area for a particular date which is obviously different.

    Not always, if you book another CAMC site for the rest of your booking date  you can get a refund

    Not if you are moving to another CC site. Or if that is not the case then without 72 hours notice you loose one nights fee. 

    I have moved on early a number of times in order to fit in another site or simply to change bookings etc but it has been to CC sites and hence a refund in full

    WE use a mixture of sites David. Not just CC.

    I think David, at best, you are misrepresenting the truth about over there, about paying when leaving and leave when you want, no booking and all that. I've just looked the first three sites in Tuscany I found (No I'm not going with my van)

    All stated: 

    This is a 15% non-refundable deposit.
    The remainder is payable on arrival.

    Site in Granada pay up front for a 2 day visit NO wifi included and €25 a night in February!! We even had to pay up front in the last camper stop We staid at, so not all cut and dry as some would love us to believe

    It does not say that you have to book. Much as in UK you don't have to book. Might prove awkward getting a pitch where you want to be on a May bank hol though if weather is good
