Thanks for info, ADD. We will certainly give a few of them a visit. Don't know if Gunby Hall will be open, but will have a look on-line. Thanks again

EDIT..Just looked and Gunby Hall doesn't open till the 9th March. We'll just have to save it till another time.

Last time we went to Gibraltar Point, you couldn’t take dogs on the beach, but I think they were fine under control on the walkways across the dunes. Haven’t been since the visitor centre got washed away in storms.

Hope Flyte enjoys the walks. The roads leading from the CL are all rural with no pavements. Grass verges and very quiet. We did a circular walk through Bratoft village from the site. If you get a chance have a look at Birdsong Touring Park. (Karen and Bob's other site across the road.) This was the original Willow Cottage CL before they bought the land across the road to design the New Willow Cottage CL.
Please let us know what you think of the site. Watch out for the kingfishers. They visit the pond at all times of the day.

TTDA - the new cafe / visitor centre is lovely. It was rebuilt after the storms/floods. It has glass windows overlooking the reserve and they do serve good cafe style food. A very friendly place. I think dogs are allowed on the beach at certain times of the year but have to be kept on a lead.

Will do ADD. Thanks again.

That’s interesting, thanks Add. We always enjoy our visits. Good to hear visitor centre has been rebuilt. I have a lovely little milk jug I bought there years ago!

tda, just look at the Gibraltar Point web site and dogs are allowed from 1st Sept to 31st March, so we'll be alright.

Welcome to Lincolnshire. 😊 Glad you like it. It's one of the best CLs we've visited. Did you hear the tawny owls last night? You had lovely weather to arrive in yesterday. What pitch are you on? We like pitch 3 for the best views of the wildlife all around the pond. Watch out for the heron this morning. It's stalks the ponds for its breakfast. Hope the kingfishers perform for you. Enjoy your day. We're off to work. 😕

The great weather continues. Yes, we heard the owls last night, and had a clear sky so a beautiful starry vista. We were woken at 7 by the ducks, geese and Collar Doves calling, though!! We are on pitch 3, it doesn't get much better than this.

ADD, just to say thanks for the recommendations, although we didn't see the Kingfishers unfortunately.
Hope that this moves the posts along😁

We're glad you enjoyed it. We can't believe the kingfishers were so elusive. We saw them everyday in December but they were difficult to spot. One landed on a post sticking out of the water, right outside pitch 3 and we couldn't grab the camera quickly enough to get a picture. We also saw one catch a fish and sit on the back of the bench to hit its head against before eating it. When we first started going to Willow Cottage there were only two ducks - Chas & Dave (the two white ones) but they nest in Karen's back garden in the flower boarders and have produced a few more over the years. Karen also opens her garden to The National Garden Scheme. They have an owl box in the garden which is used by tawny owls each year. The young are ringed by the RSPB but last year they think a stoat raided the nest.
