Norwich CLs
We are thinking of stopping for a few nights somewhere around Norwich for a few nights around the second week in March. We have some ideas, but wanting one that has H/S, EHU and allows dogs we would appreciate any suggestion of a site that we might suit us?

We had a short stay quite a few years ago at 3 Grange Farm Barns when looking for an awning from Norwich Camping not far away. It was ok when we stayed but as I said, it was quite some time ago., must be about 6 years. Maybe Oneputt can recommend somewhere.

Never been to Norwich Nellie, so sorry can’t help this time. We stayed further South, but it was all grass. The Tank Museum Site, they do have some hardstanding close up near house. Might be too far South for you though. I will look up name......

I knew you'd stopped there before, tda, but it did close down and I'm not sure if it re-opened. We really don't want to go much further south of Norwich as we intend heading across to the CC's Thetford site as we start heading back north.

It was Bridge Farm, under Diss. Can’t find it on website, so it might have closed again. If you get to Thetford, the Dads Army Museum and the little Transport Museum are well worth a visit. Grimes Graves as well, very unusual.
If weather turns nasty in Wales, Norfolk might be our default, for early trip in March. 😁

We've got pitch at Barleywood from 1st March!!!
Done Grimes Graves a couple of time, but always worth another visit.

Thanks, WN, will look it up. Might be a bit close to home for OP.

What about the C&CC site in Norwich? Easy access into the centre by bus. No hardstandings but the ground was pretty firm on the pitches around reception. Some pictures here http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/norwich_ccc_site.html

Thanks for that Oneputt, it is indeed the same site we used. All grass though Nellie, perhaps not this time of year. Great to hear you are in at Barleywood Nellie, some lovely CLs in North Norfolk.

Heading to a CL near Fellbrigg from Barleywood, so down to Norwich and then back to Swaffam makes for a round trip. I'll certainly have a look at Tas Valley, as we've a plenty of time before having to decide I think.

I think it is mainly grass, but when our MH was out of action, we parked next to a tank on HS. The showers and loos were good, I suspect the pool might have gone though. It’s next to railway line, so expect train noise, but it didn’t bother us, not like the constant roar of a road. If mUseum is open, it might be a busy place at times. We dropped lucky, only us there. It’s a b****r to find, so many turnings and little villages, but not so bad straight down from Norwich, we went across, around from Thetford. We visited Framlingham Castle from here. That’s an interesting village.

Bramble Park. We've never stopped there before but thought that it would suit us for a few days.
Thanks for the added info, tda. Still not yet decided on which one we'll be trying.

Thanks OP, they did say we could pitch on the H/S if needs be.

Well, we've made our choise....The Old Stracey, Kirby Bedon. east of Norwich. It has good reviews, H/S and a footpath for walking Flyte opposite the site, so hopefully it will suit our needs.

We've decided to give Suffolk a miss this trip, as we intend to be home before Easter, and heading that way will add quite a bit extra both in time and distance to a rather long trip already.
