Nissan Juke as a tow car?
Hi, we are thinking of changing our car, does anyone have any experience of using a Nissan Juke as a tow car. We are thinking of buying a 64 plate 1.6 petrol, the towing capacity seems to be OK but a bit concerned about pulling power. We own a Esterel folding caravan so not over heavy.
Thanks

The 1.6 engine has a good reputation and should be up to the job provided you are not in a hurry. With the folding caravan wind resistance which is normally a major factor with caravans is not a big problem so the main drawback of that engine is dealt with. Although my daughter had a Juke, she never towed with it so no first hand experience but the engine was certainly lively.

Maybe it’s me but, given the looks of the car, I always think Nissan made a spelling mistake in its name. 🤭

I tow a Trigano Rubis 310 caravan with a Skoda Fabia Estate. The engine is a 1.2 litre turbo petrol that develops 105ps (103.5bhp) and 175Nm (129ftlb) torque.
Towed with it for the last 3 years and have not found it to be under powered with such a light caravan (750kg).
The DSG 7 speed automatic box certainly makes towing a lot easier than using a manual gearbox.
