Thanks for the advice about changing debit cards, but the MyEsso card is not linked to a debit card, that would be easy to change/replace. The Esso card is linked to your bank account, so you've given Pump-King authority to legally take money directly from your bank account.

That's not what it says in the T&C's. It specifically says a debit card. Nothing about a variable direct debit, which would actually carry more protection through the DD guarantee.
From T&C's
Members can only register for a fuel membership card with a Debit Card (Credit Cards are not currently accepted).

Every Friday so far I have received a text from pumpkin informing me what next weeks card price per litre is. So far no text has been received, so I have no idea of the price from Sunday.
We were promised a new card, so far, a new card has not yet been received, but the old one deactivates on Tuesday.
To activate the new card, when I get it, you have to log in and click on the activate new card link.. My login does not have that option.
Stunning performance, 3 out of 3 fails !

Is there any official comment from the club regarding the obvious failure of this scheme? There are now thousands of posts between the club forum and external social media relating to non-performance, lack of cards or cards that don’t work, as well as inability to get any communication from pk. Yet the scheme is still being promoted on the club pages.

3 strikes and your out then, Justus2
I haven't had the text either, although , unlike you,I have got the updated web page, should a card ever turn up!
I'm sure you have logged out and logged in again, or tried clearing your cache to see if that makes any difference?
The cynic in me says that this is an easy way for PK / CAMC to cancel this debacle.
Say you're issuing new cards, but don't, then cancel all the existing cards on the 19th Feb then, hey presto ,all their problems disappear at once

Indeed yes, Yertiz, even tried going in via Firefox rather than Chrome, no change. It seems as though the first rule of business has not been fully understood..
Rule 1 : Don't upset your customers.
Rule 2 : see Rule 1.

100 pages and nearly 1000 posts that are mostly complaints - beggars belief!
I have an updated PK web page but no card (ever) and no price update for next week if the bl***y thing ever does turn up.

Yes and it's only visa-debit that can be used (linked to your bank a/c.)The club states on FB that they hope the offer will be extended to other types of card but it's probably a good thing at the moment that any expansion in this direction hasn't happened. I notice people are getting better responses from the club on FB.

Just got text as well. Regular diesel £1.264. Pump price at local Esso station £1.279, price as local Sainsburys, £1.259.
At this rate, there will be absolutely no savings to be made and so no-one will use the cards. All CMC and Pumpking's problems will then just disappear. Poooof! Give it a couple of months and everyone will have forgotten the debacle instigated by them - or so they will hope.
I wonder what the financial implications to the club have been thus far in their "two years in the planning" and the three months chaotic roll-out of the scheme?

One of the reasons I never went for it. I could never see it saving, long term, over supermarket prices, of which we have ample locally. Therefore the only saving for myself would be any fill ups on major roads, motorways etc where the Esso price is silly figures. Given that all our vehicles can do hundreds of miles between fill ups, these don't happen very often.

Same here, Steve. One of my better decisions👍🏻

If by some miracle we all get our cards on the Monday, will the system be able to handle thousands of people trying to activate their cards?
At the moment the system is still showing my current card details and PIN so the system also needs to be updated.
I can see this going down the tubes very fast and creating even more confusion!

I 've had the text this morning regular Diesel £1.264 unleaded £1.191, from my window I can see the Morrison's fuel station selling diesel at £1.227 & unleaded at £1.137.
Its been the same for the last few weeks just not worth using the card!

No new card here, but my weekly text just arrived with a price that doesn't really offer any savings. Just looking back through my text messages and the first ones offered a price of around £1.19. I'll stick with it, but only if I have to do an emergency splash and dash on the motorway.

The prices at first were 4p cheaper than supermarkets round here, then it reduced to 3p then 2p, 1p and now they are the same as our Morrison's and Sainsbury's. I expect they are testing the waters, putting the prices up and see how many still use the card. In the long term I guess that the fewer that use the card the more chance the price will come down again. Personally, for diesel, I just buy the best deal I can find at the time, I have no loyalty to any provider or brand. I have much the same attitude to supermarkets, and caravan sites..

Reported your post, so will see if there's any responses.

If anyone has any doubts about how dreadful this Caravan Club scam actually is, on Thursday (14th February 2019) on the A85 in rural Perthshire a local Jet station was able to sell diesel for £1.21 a litre. Compare to the CC offer of £1.25. This shows how big a lie we are being fed.
Now, the saving being advertised by The Caravan Club is stated as an AVERAGE of 8p a litre. That does not mean that anyone will necessarily actualy save exactly 8p, but that there will have to be many saving greater than 8p. There are plenty of reports on CT of savings LESS than 8p, but, as far as I know, none greater.
This sorry state of affairs is still being promoted. It could have been withdrawn at any time since it became obvious it was going wrong. So I for one believe that there is some reward of money, or money's worth, to The Caravan Club for every one of their members who signs up for the deal.
It is now time the Advertising Standards Authority were invited to become involved, and perhaps the Office of Fair Trading as well, since both advertising and trading are suspect.

I feel I need to respond in defence of the Esso card. I have had one since the New Year and I buy around £40 of diesel a week which by using the card gives me a saving of around £1.50 every time plus the Tesco points. I am fortunate in as much that I drive past the Esso garage every day so do not have to go out of my way which I would have to do in order to get "cheap" fuel from Asda thereby negating any saving I would make. There are always going to be winners and losers with every scheme you just have to decide if its of value to you, however the doubters must ask themselves how can the "supermarkets" supply the fuel at a much lower price and if it is inferior to (for arguments sake Esso) then what long term damage is that fuel doing to the engine in there car. I prefer to err on the side of caution. This is just my personal point of view.

But have you had your new card yet, LF?🤔
Let's not get into the supermarket fuel issue yet again. 🙄

No the new card arriving next week. Why do you ask?
