Clip-on drain hose

 I hired a motorhome in New Zealand that  was supplied with a very convenient clip-on hose for draining grey waste water.  I've had a good look on line at various accessory suppliers but can't find anything. Does anyone know where I could buy one of these? Please.

    You may find CAK tanks (web seaech) have them or similar. When I hired in NZ I thought it was a brilliant system especially as the drain down pipe must have been at least 2 or 3 inches in diameter. Good luck in your search.

    That is exactly what I did to modify mine. (I saw a set of pictures on either Out&About or MHF website) The waste pipe is slung very low on my Bailey 75-4 and it's been knocked off twice. So I bought a length of flexible caravan waste hose and use jubilee clips to fasten it to the waste tank at one end and the tap at the other. 

    Then I fixed two spring clips to the underneath and the pipe clips up out of the way. Another advantage is that in winter I can lower the pipe and open the tap so that no waste water collects in the pipe and freezes

    If  I'm  on  a  site  without  the  "New   improved,  Modernised" Grid  for  M/H draining  I  use  my  yard  long  length  of  Guttering  with  a  leg  to  raise  the  'van  end.  It's  easy  to  use,  to  store  &  an  absolute  doddle  to  keep  clean,  with no  likelihood  of  anything  freezing

    with a decent drive over waste (incorporating the desired sloping catchment area), just get the van somewhere near the drain, open the drain cock inside the van (no water ever resides in an outside exposed pipe) and all runs away to the desired point....

    for 'difficult' waste points, a similar solution to Apperley in that the van came with a screw on half metre 'stretchy' pipe that can be easily guided to awkward places....stores in its own slot in the gas locker.

    I fitted a black plastic flexible pipe to the central waste water outlet of my Pilote and now I have about 5 – 6 feet of wriggle room when parking over or near a grey water drain.

    The pipe is held by a worm drive hose clip to the Pilote outlet and then fastened to a tool clip just under the skirt when not in use.

    The end of the pipe pulls easily out from the clip and can be moved to the drain with no problem and the pipe slips easily back into the clip.

    It cost about £2 for the pipe and clips and is far superior to the original Pilote notion of parking directly above the drain without any room for manoeuvre.

    I bought the plastic pipe (smooth on the inside, ribbed on the outside) from a local Aquatic shop and I needed a 2 metres length of 40mm pipe (check your diameter which may be different.

    We did the same on our two motor caravans,and if the manufacturers did the same on all their products as per the RVs from the USA it would  save even now, all the dances  noted when lining the mostly poorly designed wastes outlets cool

    I think most of us probably carry something like a length of hose to fit on the tap via a 1” plastic elbow joint (available from LV accessory shops) or similar. 

    Our van is built with the drain tap on the end of a flexible hose which clips up out of the way.

    As is ours, located at the rear off side, easy to get to as well.smile

    Mine has a fairly narrow bore pipe and takes an age to empty. I may explore fitting a larger spigot at some stage.
