Hi guys needing bit of advice on what type of car would be better for towing a Swift 4 berth Challenger 564 or Conqueror 565 with single beds. I have looked at a Ford Kuga Titanium 2.0 and also Kia Sportage 2.0crdi what do you all think?

    or you could check their compatibility here;

    It would be a good starting point to check before going on?

    why not a santa fe as give you more options due to the extra weight of the vehicle and a safer tow. could be future proof if you upgrade the van in the future.

    Without the caravans MTPLMs this question is not one that can be accurately answered. Basically you need to look at the kerb weight of the tow cars and make sure they a re heavier than the MTPLM of the caravan chosen by a decent margin, but your experience of towing will need to be looked at to decide the margin.

    As for the two cars mentioned they both have good reputations for towing so in an even result on weights I would go with the one that suits your normal driving best. The towing mileage for most tow cars is far lower than the non towing mileage, so you have to be happy with the car for your daily use and live with it when towing.

    or the Kia Sorento, much the same as the santa fe, would not go for Sportage, Sorento & sante fe built to tow and are good value for money.

    didn't want to go into a full list Rufs as a lot of towers say more about how good the Fe is compared to the Sorento even though there basically the same car. more scope for towing with both though. wink

    Hi, we tow our 2010 Challenger 570 (MTPLM 1595) with a two wheel drive manual Kuga 2000cc. We have towed extensively throughout the UK and are currently in Alicante in the van. My opinion is it tows very well and is a stable towcar. The only issue we have had it can struggle on some longer uphill stretches on motorways here in  Spain and in France. Otherwise it great and gives us 28mpg.
