Just come back from Bristol club site payed £23 20 a night good value I take in the cost of parking m/home in Bristol for the day so makes this great value plus other great site locations like York and south port

Baltic Wharf is pretty much a UK city 'aire', that happens to have showers....and as such, is quite expensive compared to most similar facilities 'elsewhere'...
its not really a typical club site, no landscaping, no greenery, space at a real premium....
but that's all fine, as it's the location that is everything....but at the end of the day, it is a carpark with showers.....and £23 is still a fair ask...in Januuary.

Hi
Funny thing here. I glanced at the calendar this morning and blow me down it's 2019. Reading this thread all the moaning about prices and what they should be I could have sworn it's 1979!

I wonder where else in heartland Bristol or York could you get 24hr secure city centre parking for both a caravan and a car, a bed for the night and usual facilities at hand for anything remotely approaching that quoted (possibly even an awning included). Twice the cost may be but even that's very unlikely if not impossible!

I think you have to look at the overheads. You are on very expensive land with a high rental figure, high council tax and so on. Basically city centre sites are always going to be expensive, so £23 is not a lot when you work out how much of that will go on electricity if it is cold.

Funny you should mention Sandringham, going next week, not far away is Pinecones caravan site, at the moment £15 a night fully serviced on grass. Never been though, so no idea what it's like.
From your post I do sympathise, you feel a "club" should look after it's members. I joined this week, never gave a thought about the club aspect, saw it as they had a product I wanted so we paid.

As a ps, edit buttons disappeared.
Just in case anyone from the organisation is reading and is interested in what motivates a person to join,
I would like to also add, being only interested in UK sites, on the basis of why we joined this week (Sandringham site) there is no guarantee from us we will use any more sites other than the one for next week, this could very well be a one off as we have used some stunning commercial sites and for some we are repeat visitors.
Cost isn't an aspect we factor in, we have paid almost £40 a night for just the two of us and the dog, but the product for our needs was almost perfect. (Needed a jack hammer to put the awning pegs in).
As I said previously, the "Club" aspect, plus other add on products, wasn't a factor.

W&M, the edit button only remains active for a short while after you post. About 10 mins, I think.
I suspect many will agree with you that it’s a product and, if it's one we like, we pay the membership fee. I joined for the sites network and, although I have used the ferry booking service and insurance, that’s neither here nor there to me.
