During a recent trip I came across a new to me nature reserve, It’s called Cavenham Heath in Suffolk. This reserve is where MST of the Uks population of Stone Curlew congregate prior to migrating. Between September and October between 70 and 80 birds assemble.

None of the curlews down here appear to indulge in prohibited substances.
Ah, not 'stoned' curlews.

Weeting Heath is the best place to see stone-curlews.

Couple of snaps from Weeting Heath. First one is of a Stone Curlew, apologies for quality but it was at the limit of my camera. The second was taken at the reception centre when I notice a Tree Creeper keep disappearing by the sign. Found out it had as nest behind the sign and eventually 5 chicks fledged.
